My short story, Sorrow in the Shape of a Soldier's Smile, is online today at Danse Macabre. It's dark, but not horror, and was inspired by this photo:

The old cliche about pictures and words comes to mind... these were very good thousand words (or so).
Also interesting to see where a story came from - literally.
What a fantastic story! That picture is amazing, too. It hits on so many levels. I think I'm inspired to check out deviant art today for inspiration.
