I was poking about on YouTube for ghost town footage, clicked on a few videos, and ended up at this one. I've seen plenty of photos of Prypiat, but this video footage of the abandoned city took my breath away. This is the face of true horror, my friends, in what is shown and even more so, in what is not.

Chilling. There's a romantic, adventurous aspect to imagining a world after people, but too often it brushes over what a sad, haunted world that would be.
Fascinating stuff. I agree with Vincent, that sometimes it's easy for PA fiction to be too kind to it's survivors.
I recently read a Joel Lane collection (The Lost District and Other Stories - highly recommended) and there is a couple of stories about people surviving, eating bugs and living in an empty world, that captures this type of thing.
It's ripe for fiction!
