I've been so wrapped up in writing lately, I've neglected my blog and apologize for that. While working on my current novel today, I realized that the underlying theme in this story can be summed up by a snippet of lyric from Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos: "Doesn't take much to rip us into pieces."
Oddly enough, a snippet from the same song was the underlying theme of my previous novel: "Give me life, give me pain, give me myself again." And the title of that novel, Paper Tigers, was inspired by a lyric from yet another one of her songs.
In case it's not obvious, I am a Tori Amos fan. She is amazing and gifted and has an incredibly gorgeous voice. Her lyrics are sometime surreal, but always thought-provoking and beautiful.
I saw today that her new video for Nautical Twilight premiered on Brigitte.de in Germany and thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy!

I cared nothing for Tori until I saw her live in 1999. Blew me away. To this day, I see the live version of "Precious Things" (with the full band) as one of the best live performances ever.
I was subjected to Tori throughout my freshman year in college because my roommate was a HUGE fan. Pretty good stuff, but I needed a break after that.
Barry, she is amazing live, isn't she?
Anthony, I can understand that. :)
