My short story, And Down Will Come Baby, Madmen and All, was published last week in Buzzy Mag and is available to read free online. There is a comments section on the Buzzy Mag site, so feel free to leave a word or two if you like.

Short Story Sale to Daily Science Fiction
I've sold my short story, When She is Empty, to Daily Science Fiction. This marks my fifth sale to DSF and as always, I will post an update when I know the date of publication.

Horrorfind 2012 Recap
Last weekend, I attended Horrorfind in Gettysburg. I've never been to the convention so I wasn't sure what to expect. Samhain arranged for pre-release copies of Ink to be available, so I got to see it in person for the first time. It was very surreal and didn't hit me until I took a copy with me upstairs to my room. I sat on the edge of the bed, held it in my hands for a few minutes, and remembered all the nights I sat with my laptop, pouring the story out onto the screen with no thought of publication, just the rush of a story that demanded to be written. (I may have also done a little happy dance, but I will neither confirm nor deny that occurrence.)
And people bought copies. Complete strangers who liked the look of the cover and thought the story sounded interesting. Yes, of course, I hoped that might happen, but still.... Amazing.
It was fantastic to meet and hang out with other Samhain authors: Brian Moreland, Hunter Shea, David Bernstein, Russell James, Mick Ridgewell, Ronald Malfi, and John Everson, and the Samhain crew: Don D'Auria, Dawn Martin, and Jacob Hammer.
I also met several people in person that I've known online for a bit: Ken Wood, John Boden, and Sarah Gomes from Shock Totem, and fellow scribe Amanda Davis. I also signed a copy of Ink for actor Ray Wise. That was beyond surreal. Unbelievable, in truth. It was a fantastic weekend, albeit quite a whirlwind!
Next up on the calendar is Killercon in Las Vegas from September 20th through the 23rd. Once again, Samhain will have pre-release copies of Ink available. Samhain Publishing rocks. 'Nuff said.
